Frequently asked

How do I send a message?
Open the Send tab, type a short message, pick a speed (Slow, Normal, or Fast), and tap Flash. Your phone's flashlight blinks the message out in Morse code.
What are the speed options for?
Slower speeds are easier to read by eye or with another phone's camera; faster is fine for a person reading line-of-sight. If the other end has trouble, use Normal or Slow.
What does the Tap tab do?
Tap lets you enter Morse code by hand. In Follow mode you hold one button in time with a light you're watching. In Buttons mode you tap Dot and Dash; pause a moment and the letter is filled in for you (a longer pause adds a space).
Why does the app ask for camera permission?
On iPhone, the flashlight (torch) is controlled through the camera. Morse Flash uses it only to turn the light on and off — it never takes or saves photos or video, and nothing leaves your device. See our Privacy Policy.
Does it need internet?
No. Morse Flash works completely offline, even in airplane mode.
